The species epithet is a noun in apposition taken from

Males of
Catanduba araguaia
sp. nov.
differ from those of other species by the presence of an auxiliary keel under PIK with a pointed apical edge, as
C. piauiensis
sp. nov.

Color in alcohol: carapace and legs dark brown. Sternum and coxae brown. Abdomen dorsally dark gray with four gray stripes extending to lateral sides and ventrally light brown. Urticating hairs of
