with a relatively wide distribution is the swine tick,
Amblyomma breviscutatum
,
reported from
Palau
,
Guam
, Northern Marianas Pohnpei, Kosrae, and the Marshalls. In has been found on pigs, cows, rats and humans (
Prowazek 1913

,

,

,
Joyce 1971
). This tick was confirmed in 2008 as still being present on
Guam
.
