L. mulanensis grows between 15 and 37 °C but not at 10 and 45°C; the strain produces L(+)-lactate from D-ribose, D-glucose, N -acetylglucosamine and cellobiose [ 338 ]. The genome size of the type strain is 2.53 Mbp. The mol% GC content of DNA is 41.7. Isolated from a vegetable fermentation [ 338 ].
