Diagnostic characters.
Dimorphic octocorals, reproductive siphonozooids and feeding autozooids, without axial skeletal structures other than a medulla formed by unfused sclerites. Medulla surrounded by a cortex containing the gastric cavities of autozooids and siphonozooids. Profusely branched colonies.
