Remarks. Previous records on the coast of São Paulo state include Santos (Melo & Campos Jr. 1999), Caraguatatuba ( Braga et al. 2005 ) and Ubatuba (Bertini et al. 2004; Fransozo et al. 2012 ; Nucci & Melo 2012 ; Garcia Bento et al. 2018 , 2019 ). This species was referred before as its junior synonym Hypoconcha sabulosa (Herbst, 1799) ( Coelho & Ramos 1972 ; Abele & Kim 1986 ).
