Range: —Southern Mexico to Panama ; Venezuela to Bolivia ( CH , CO, LP, SC). Ecology: —Common; epiphytic and less commonly saxicolous in humid forests; 1100–3050 m . Notes: —This species may be confused with P. eurybasis , which is generally smaller and has more strongly reduced basal pinnae, and P. robusta , which has a gradually reduced laminar base and patches of erect hairs around the sori. In Bolivia , P. divaricata is variable, with glabrous or hairy sporangia, rachises, and blade surfaces, and entire to setose rhizome scales. It may comprise a species complex.
