Diagnosis.
Lithoglyptinae having 2-segmented caudal appendages without pedestals, operculum without posterior processes (“auricles”), opercular bars with posterior projections, mantle with or without orificial knob, lateral bars present or absent.
Remarks.
Kolbasov & Newman (2005) included
B. taiwanus
in the nine species forming a new genus
Armatoglyptes
. However, this genus was erected without designation of a
type
species and is, therefore, a
nomen nudum
. It is an unavailable name but is treated herein as a junior synonym.
