Field Columb. Mus., Bot. Ser. 23: 129 (1944) This species was excluded due to lack of testimonial information that it was collected in Mexican territory. Eugenia chinajensis was only mentioned by Villaseñor (2016) , in the Checklist of vascular plants native to Mexico , occurring in the Mexican state of Chiapas , but for lack of a voucher it was excluded. According to Barrie (2020) , Eugenia chinajensis is endemic to Guatemala .
