Identification.
Leaves lanceolate leaves; apex acute, with hyaline or reddish apical cells and unipapillary lamellar cells. This species resembles
Fissidens angustifolius
Sull.
, and
Fissidens goyazensis
Broth. However
,
F. angustifolius
has the costa precurrent, the limbidium not-terminating below the apex, and hyaline apical cells are absent;
F. goyazensis
differs by having the leaves lig- ulate and the costa precurrent to excurrent. Briocenological group: saxicolous and terricolous.
Brazilian range.
CE, PA, PB (restricted distribution). Newly recorded from the Cerrado.
