Recorded from lush grassy vegetation on a riverbank, from a pine forest and from a sandy spit at the mouth of the Douro River. In northwestern Europe, the species is confined to salt marshes and brackish marshes, but it also occurs along forest streams at higher altitudes in the western, southern and eastern Mediterranean (see Pollet et al. 2017 ; Pollet & Stark 2018 ).
