Distribution.
Introduced. Australasian/ Oceanian, Nearctic, Neotropical; Galápagos: Floreana, Isabela,
San Cristóbal
, Santa Cruz, Santiago.
Remarks.
Adults of this species were swept from dung and range from littoral to highland humid zones. This species is associated with beaches, living as a saprophage. It is found from Nearctic Mexico to
Paraguay
, and occurs otherwise on the
Marshall Islands
(an important
US
military base during WWII) where it was most likely introduced (T. Pape pers. comm.).
