Scaphoideus albotaeniatus Kuoh, 1986 : 197 ; Li & Wang, 1991 : 195 . Coloration and structure ( Figs. 2 C, H, M, 3F) as in S. coniceus and as described by Kitbamroong & Freytag (1978) . Head nearly as wide as pronotum. Whitish longitudinal stripe on crown and scutellum with two pale brown bands at lateral margin ( Figs. 2 C, H, 3F). Face grayish white with one brown anterior marginal line and three interrupted lines below this one ( Fig. 2 M). Forewings with two reflexed cross veins between outer anteapical cell and costal margin, basal reflexed vein basad of outer anteapical cell ( Fig. 2 C, H). Male genitalia. Pygofer elongate with blunt apex ( Fig. 11 A, B). Subgenital plate triangular, with 3 long macrosetae near base and fine hair on basal margin ( Fig. 11 C). Style with broad anterior part, shoulder is triangular with round apex, apical process curved to acute apex with group of setae at base ( Fig. 11 C, D). Connective with Ushaped developed arms and longer stem; connective processes divergent and pointed apically ( Fig. 11 C, E). Aedeagus with well developed dorsal apodeme, shaft cylindrical and apex curved posteriorly with 2 pairs of small triangular processes, 1 pair apical and other pair middle ( Fig. 11 F, G). Female genitalia. Caudal margin of seventh sternum medially convex ( Figs 4 D, H). Other characteristics ( Figs. 14 J–L, 15J–L, 16J–L) as in S. albovittatus Matsumura. FIGURE 10. Distribution. China (Yunnan, Hainan), Thailand Remarks. This species was described from Thailand by Kitbamroong & Freytag (1978) . Subsequently, S. albotaeniatus was described from Yunnan, China by Kuoh (1986) based on one female specimen and synonymized with S. maai by Zhang (1990). S. maai has similar appearance to S.coniceus , S. intermedius and S. kumamotonis , but it can be easily differentiated by its peculiar male genitalia structures. The shape of the pygofer in S.maai is not as elongate as in the other two species, the connective processes are more slender and the aedeagus is of different shape.
