Rod like tentacles (pachytenes—term of Jankowski, 2007 ) are evenly distributed or arranged in fascicles along the lateral edge of body. Macronucleus elongated or long, band-like. Reproduction by exogemmic budding with forming of lateral unciliary, vermiform swarmer (vermigemmy). Type species Rhabdophrya trimorpha Chatton & Collin, 1910 .
