( Figure 64 ) Description: Length 51–55 µm, width 23–26 µm (middle), striae 8–10 in 10 µm. Remarks: This species appears similar to Diploneis interrupta (Kützing) Cleve but with coarser striae and 2–4 longitudinal lines interrupting transapical striae. Ecology and distribution: Marine species. Rare in Potter Cove.
