Comments.
Based on a forewing fragment, the basal part of the wing is missing and thus obscuring the identity of some of the posterior veins important for placing the taxon to subfamily. Overall, the venation of
Erlikosmylus
is most similar to that of
Mesosmylina
, and likely it belongs in
Mesosmylininae
. These genera are distinct if we compare the venation of their
type
species (
cf.
Ponomarenko, 1995
: fig. 77 and
Khramov, 2014b
: fig. 3).
