Type
species.
Pseudosmylidia relicta

: 582
(by original designation).
Diagnosis.
Antennae less than FW length; wings ovoid, hyaline; costal area broad, basally and distally narrowed; subcostal veinlets simple basally and forked distally, sub-parallel and relatively widely spaced throughout; relatively few crossveins in RA-RP area; stem of RP relatively short, with 10 branches; end-twigging along posterior margin irregular and multi-layered; three distinct gradate series arranged in parallel through radial and medial areas; FW M fork at level with origin RP2; MA and MP with very few pectinate branches; FW CuA pectinately forked (four branches), area of branching of FW CuP smaller than area of CuA; A1 elongate and pectinate branched.
Comments:
The forewing CuA with more branches than CuP is distinctive for this genus and suggests a close relationship to
Jurosmylus
, the only other protosmyline genus to exhibit this condition.
