Remarks.
Our specimens represent the first record for
Indonesia
. This is one of the oldest nominal species of
Chaunax
, being the fourth described.
Ho & Last (2013)
confirmed it to be a valid species and the senior species in the
C. abei
-species group. A redescription of this species is being prepared by the first author.
