The original description mentions specimens in both the NHM and in Berlin (also studied); however, primary type material for this revision is housed in the NHM so remains appropriate for designation. Therefore, this specimen, a dissected male in good condition, can be considered a primary type. Labels for the specimen are as follows: “Co-type” “Type” “Murr” “68-106” “terminalis”. A red label is added with the following text: “ LECTOTYPE / Staurglossicus terminalis Murray /Desig. By/Powell and Martin 2019”.
