Hemiosus moreirai was described by d’Orchymont (1921) and its holotype collected in Rio de Janeiro. Santos et al. (in press.) mention this species as being widely distributed in Rio de Janeiro State, specially in areas of Atlantic Rainforest, therefore this new record from São Paulo State is not surprising.
