Examined material.
1 PT ♂ and 1 PT ♀ (CSt at
MSNM
).
Note.
This species belongs to the ‘
B. orbicollis
species group’, which includes three species easily distinguished by the distinctive and very similar morphology of aedeagus (
Allegro & Giachino 2011b
) as well as a further species (
B. crassus
) which is tentatively included in this group based on similar habitus, although its aedeagus is still unknown. The HT ♂ is deposited in Fundación Miguel Lillo, Tucumán (
Argentina
).
Distribution.
Even though the recorded specimens of
B. orbicollis
do not bear labels with precise locality data, it is very likely that this species, in analogy with the three others included in the same species group (
B. crassus
,
B. pingui
s and
B. pseudolaevis
), is restricted to northern
Peru
(
Allegro & Giachino 2011b
).
