The colour pattern of this ♁ differs partly from the description of the of C. maculiceps given by Heinrich (1975: 202–203) , it may represent a new subspecies of the widespread species. Body length 14–15 mm . Flagellum with 41 flagellomeres. Hind femur 4.5 × longer than wide. Colour metallic-blue. Flagellum reddish, black dorsally. Palps, mandible except teeth, lateral spots of clypeus, wide facial orbit, narrow frontal obit, gena, tegula, spot of subtegular ridge, scutellum apical band of postpetiole, apical half of 2 nd tergite, narrow apical margin of 3 rd tergite, apical transverse spots on 5 th to 7 tergites, fore and mid coxae and trochanters cream-yellow. Petiole and area of gastrocoelus reddish. Hind coxa metallic-blue; fore and mid femora, tibiae and tarsi reddish; hind femur brown, hind tibia ochreous, black in apical 0.2; hind tarsus black. Wings hyaline; pterostigma black. Distribution . Known from India , Myanmar and Java, new record for Sulawesi.
