( Figure 1A ) Description Female. Integument of head, prothorax and mesosternum orange-brown. Antennae, legs, metasternum and abdomen black. Scutellum and elytra shiny green with metallic reflections. Head with moderately sparse punctures, more conspicuous on frons. Antennae without setae, attaining elytral apex; scape sparsely punctate; antennomeres III–IV with minute spiniform projection at inferior face of distal extremity and very sparse setae; antennomeres VI–XI covered with dense greyish pubescence. Pronotum sparsely punctate. Sides of prothorax and prosternum smooth, with obsolete longitudinal wrinkles. Mesosternum, metasternum and urosternites covered with whitish pubescence, with silvery reflections. Elytra parallel-sided from base to distal fifth; apex subtruncate, unarmed; surface densely, coarsely punctate, with sparse setae. Femora and tibiae with sparse long setae; mesofemora and metafemora with short, rounded apical projection. Etymology The species is named for Mr Martin V . Comments Ecoporanga cooperi sp. nov. is similar to E.achira Napp and Martins, 2006 , which also has unarmed elytral apex. It is distinguished by the antennae and legs black and elytra green with metallic reflections. In E.achira , the antennae and legs are orange and the elytra blue with metallic reflections.
