Recorded from all recognized macrohabitat categories in
Portugal
with a clear preference for agricultural lands, and to a lesser extent, grasslands and heathlands.
Sympycnus pulicarius
is a typical grassland species in northwestern Europe that avoids oligotrophic open habitats (
Pollet
et al.
2015
).
