Curruca languida

.
Now.
Hippolais languida
(
Hemprich & Ehrenberg, 1833
)
. See
Hartert (1909: 573)
.
Type
series.
Hemprich and Ehrenberg (1833: 55)
based this species on a single specimen (see also
Lichtenstein
1825
, Nr. 75), which is thus its
holotype
.
Holotype
:
ZMB
4076, skin, unsexed, collected on an unknown date [=
18 May–6 August 1824
] in “
Syrien
” (label) [= northern
Lebanon
].
Type
locality.
Curruca languida
was described from “
Syria
” (see also
Hartert 1909
: 573,
Vaurie 1959b
: 249,
Watson
et al.
1986
: 81), which agrees with label data and with an entry in the Inventory Catalogue of the
ZMB
. Knowing Hemprich and Ehrenberg’s itinerary, we restrict here the
type
locality to northern
Lebanon
between Beirut, Baalbek and Tripoli, where the
holotype
was collected during
18 May–6 August 1824
.
