USA : Florida ( Ashmead 1885 ; Lobato-Vila et al . 2019). Biology . Reared from tuberous stem galls of Zapatella quercusmedullae ( Ashmead, 1885 ) ( = Andricus medullae ) ( Ashmead 1885 ; Pujade-Villar et al. 2012b ; Lobato-Vila et al . 2019), which is associated with oaks of the Lobatae section from the USA ( Burks 1979 ; Pujade-Villar et al . 2012b ): Q. incana , Q. marilandica , and Q. myrtifolia . Remarks . The type material of Synergus medullae was examined and the species was redescribed and illustrated by Lobato-Vila et al . (2019: 224).
