Caught in crab traps placed on rocky and sandy bottoms (~ 4 m deep) on the west coast of Barbados . Ovigerous female collected in October 2019 . This species is very abundant in Barbados . Pitho mirabilis can be identified by anterolateral teeth decreasing in size from anterior to posterior; arm of cheliped with small tubercles on the upper margin ( Carmona-Suárez & Poupin 2016 ).
