Wang (CF 20170668; living culture, CFCC 52876). Notes. Melanconis itoana was described from Betula ermanii in Japan ( Kobayashi 1970 ). Fan et al. (2016) isolated it from Betula albosinensis as a new record in China. Melanconis itoana is characterised by fusoid, green-brown alpha conidia with acute ends (13 x 4 μm ) and hyaline, cylindrical or crescent beta conidia (9.5 x 1.5 μm ).
