Holotype examined, labeled “107”, “ Typus ” (NHRS, Chevrolat Diagnosis. Palliolatrix insignis resembles P. s i l a c e a in having the individual components of the elytral colour pattern reaching well onto the disk ( Figs. 1, 3 ). The two species differ in several details of the colour pattern, particularly on the apical portions of the pronotum and elytra. The scales are beige in P. insignis and bright orange in P. s i l a c e a .

Material examined. GUADELOUPE . Holotype , without locality ( NHRS 1). Distribution. The species is known only from Guadeloupe ( Fig. 17 ). Hustache (1932: 308) mentioned 12 specimens collected in Bains-Jaunes and Trois-Rivières. Plant associations. Unknown.
