Type species Pachyseius humeralis Berlese, 1910 , by original designation. Diagnosis . Females in the genus Pachyseius have the epigynal shield separate from the ventral shield, bearing one pair of setae; ventral shield fused with anal shield to form a ventri-anal shield bearing 2–4 pairs of pre-anal setae; tarsus II with 1–3 distal setae thick, heavy and spur-like; anterior ends of peritremes at a level between setae z1 and z2 ; setae on opisthogastric soft skin simple and needle-like; and dorsal and peritrematal shields usually with several pairs of greatly expanded gland pores. This diagnosis excludes some species that have been described or classified in the genus Pachyseius , but are here considered to belong to other genera (especially the closely related genus Mirabulbus Liu & Ma 2001 ), as discussed by Mašán & Halliday (2014) .
