Population structure and abundance.
Two females.
Ecology and distribution.
Representatives of this genus are terrestrial nematodes (edaphobionts) known from the countries of Europe, Asia, Africa, North and
South
America (
Andrássy 1968
,
2009b
). It is likely that they occur accidentally in water bodies. Not previously known from
Vietnam
.
Remarks.
In terms of size and general body morphology, the specimens from
Vietnam
are closest to the species
P. mahunkai
(
Andrássy, 1968
) Andrássy, 2009
described from
Paraguay
(
South America
). However, we failed to conclusively attribute them either to this or to any other known species of the genus (
Andrássy 1968
,
2009b
).
