Ressia auriculata is diagnosed by the subtriangular pleural lobes of the male eighth segment with a bunch of short apical thorns, the auriculate cucullus in the male genitalia ( Fig. 9 ), and the symmetrical sterigma with a sclerotized horn-shaped ventral sac in the female genitalia ( Fig. 15 ).
