Pintomyia (Pifanomyia) ovallesi (Ortiz) : Galati, 2003 : 38 (listed, keys). Diagnosis. Antennal flagellomeres with simple ascoids. Palpal segment 5, as long as or longer than the sum of segments 3+4. Male: Gonocoxite with basal tuft of long setae; gonostylus as long as 0.4 the gonocoxite length, with one apical, one preapical and two median (at same level) spiniform setae, additionally with preapical delicate seta; paramere simple, with short setae on distal one-third, and slightly broadened rounded apex; lateral lobe longer than 7.5 times its width. Female: Cibarium with four horizontal teeth, a row of about 8 vertical teeth and few lateral teeth in compact group; spermatheca striated with a median constriction ( Young & Duncan 1994 ). Remarks. This species was the second most abundant during collections and showed anthropophilous habits.
