Remarks.
First of all, the name as given by
Peres
(1939)
is a nomen nudum -
Peres
apparently considered the expression "
curta
" self-explanatory and did not describe it. Moreover, he obviously used the name not as separate taxon but rather as descriptive term to fit existing species into his morphological concept. He even indicated
Melanopsis brevis
Morelet, 1857 as its
"type"
.
