REMARKS According to Clark (1989) , L. barbadensis Perrier, 1881 is a valid species.She reports, however, that the illustrated specimen identified L. barbadensis by Perrier (1884: 267 , pl. 10, figs 7, 8) belongs to the subspecies Luidia sarsi elegans Perrier, 1875 . Various syntypes in the MCZ (MCZ 316) ( Clark & Downey 1992 ).
