Tachinus centralis
is most similar to
T. striatulus
Ullrich
, described based on a single female from northeastern
Myanmar
, in sharing an additional pair of processes along the inner margins of the inner lobes of female tergite VIII. Females of these two species can be tentatively separated by the incisions between the inner and outer lobes being distinctly deeper than that between the inner lobes, and the relatively much longer median and outer lobes of sternite VIII in the new species.
