Large, robust body, often surpassing

SL. Tooth- less mouth, pharyngeal teeth. Branchial openings widely attached to isthmus. Large scales, 38 or
39 in
the lateral line. Long dorsal fin, with anterior 3 or 4 rays undivided, of which the last conformed into spine with posterior denticles. Caudal fin with rounded lobes. Color pattern: greenish brown with golden and blue reflections.
