The genus
Kloosia
is a member of the
Harnischia
group. The male hypopygium has a non-shortened inferior volsella covered with very short setae only, lacking long, apical setae.
Reiss (1988)
included four species in
Kloosia
,
namely
K. koreana

collected in Eastern Asia,
K. africana
Reiss, 1988
from tropical Africa,
K. pusilla
(Linnaeus, 1767)
from Europe and
Russia
, and
K. dorsenna

from the Nearctic region.
This is the first record of
Kloosia
from
Japan
. Adults were collected at Nagara River, Gifu Prefecture and at Nishiki River, Iwakuni, Yamaguchi Prefecture, and larvae at Teradomari, Niigata Prefecture. All were identified to
K. koreana
.
