Widely distributed in eastern North America from Maine south to Florida and Texas ( White 1982 , Chandler 2001 , Sikes 2004 ). Abundant at ultraviolet lights ( Downie & Arnett 1996 ); larvae are found in conifer cones ( White 1982 ).
