Leaf mine.

A
large white blotch, normally in the center of the leaf, with frass in a conspicuous black patch near the center of the mine (
Spencer & Steyskal 1986
). Our mines were centered on
major
veins, not necessarily the central one. At the time of collection, an elliptical patch of green tissue remained in the middle of each mine, centered on the vein, with all of the frass evidently being deposited below it (
Fig. 201
).
Puparium.
Dark brown, deeply segmented, formed within the mine or externally (
Spencer & Steyskal 1986
).
