Type host: Tragopan sp. ( Galliformes : Phasianidae ). Type locality: Himalaya. FEMALE ( holotype and 4 paratypes ). Total body length 435–535. Gnathosoma . Infracapitulum sparsely punctate. Movable cheliceral digit 120 long. Stylophore apunctate, 145–165 long. Each medial branch of peritremes with 2 chambers, each lateral branch with 3 chambers. Idiosoma . Propodonotal shield weakly sclerotized, apunctate, deeply concave on anterior margin. Bases of setae se and c1 situated at same transverse level. Setae ve and si subequal in length. Hysteronotal shield absent. Setae e2 and d1 subequal in length, both 4–5 times shorter than d2 . Pygidial shield posteriorly punctate. Setae f2 1.5–1.7 times longer than f1 and h1 . Genital plate absent. Length ratio of aggenital setae ag1 , ag2 and ag3 1.2–1.3:1:1.6. Coxal fields I–IV sparsely punctate. Setae 3c twice as long as 3b . Legs . Setae tc”III–IV 1.5 times longer than tc’III–IV . Fan-like setae p’ and p” of legs III and IV with 7–8 tines. Lengths of setae : ve 30–35, si 35–40, se 245–270, c1 265–295, c2 215–245, d1 35–40, d2 170–180, e2 40 –45, f1 40–45, f2 60–80, h1 30–35, h2 300–355, ps1 15–20, ps2 20, g1 25–35, g2 35–40, ag1 90–95, ag2 70–75, ag3 115– 125, l’RIII 30–40, l’RIV 25–30, tc’III–IV 25–30, tc”III–IV 35–45. MALE. Unknown. Type material examined. Tragopan sp. ( Galliformes : Phasianidae ): holotype female and 4 female paratypes ( AMU-SYR .12) (cov.); HIMALAYA, no other data. Alectoris barbara (Bonnaterre) ( Phasianidae ): 4 females ( AMU –SYR.13) (cov.); ITALY , Sicily , 1911, no other data. All material is deposited in the AMU . Host specimen deposited in the MNHW. Host range and habitat. Oligoxenous species inhabiting quills of coverts of Tragopan sp. and Alectoris barbara . Distribution. Italy and unknown country in Himalaya.
