Ball and Currie, 1997: 487. Type locality: "km. 155, Dempster H[igh]w[a]y, Yukon [Territory]" (original citation). Holotype (♂) in CNC [# 23110]. Etymology. The specific name was proposed for Donald Monty Wood [1933-], dipterist at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (Canadian National Collection of Insects) who collected most of the specimens of the type series.
Distribution.
This species is known only from the Ogilvie Mountains in Yukon Territory.
