Ecology
. Intertidal and shallow subtidal, known depth range:
0–7 m
; under rocks, in crevices of rocks and corals, sometimes associated with hermit crabs,

Remarks
. In all Panamanian specimens of
P. ortmanni
(
Fig. 68
), the carapace and P1 varies from pale brownish to yellowish, whereas the P2–P4 are always darker brown. In some younger individuals from
Colombia
, the P1 are paler and speckled with dark spots (
Ferreira
et al.
2020
). The specimen illustrated by García-Madrigal & Andréu- Sánchez (2009) was photographed either
post-mortem
or shortly after preservation and lost most of its original colours.
