Description and differential diagnosis
. Size small. Coloration uniformly dark brown or brown. Body interspersed with coarse tubercles.
Head.
Head is not exserted above pronotal surface. Fastigium of vertex in dorsal view, width of vertex between eyes is wider than width of compound eye; anterior margin of fastigium is nearly truncate, slightly surpassing anterior margin of eye; median carina visible anteriorly; lateral margins are turned backward. In lateral view, frontal ridge and vertex form a rounded-angle shape, frontal costa straight between eyes, protrude anteriorly and broadly rounded between antennal grooves. In frontal view, frontal costa bifurcated above lateral carinae, the scutellum (longitudinal furrow) is widely forked between the antennae, the rami is strongly divergent, width of longitudinal furrow of frontal ridge is three times antennal groove diameter. Antennae short, filiform, antennal grooves inserted below inferior margin of compound eyes. Eyes globose, lateral (paired) ocelli located between inferior margin of compound eyes.
Thorax.
Pronotum is wide and short, in dorsal view dorsum of pronotum granulose and rough, with a straight anterior margin. Upper margin of pronotum in profile undulated, median carina entire; hind pronotal process does not reach the knee of hind femur and its apex narrow rounded. Posterior angles of lateral lobes produce outwards, end of posterior angles are slightly obtuse-rounded, posterior margins of lateral lobes of pronotum with ventral sinus and tegminal (upper) sinus. Tegmina long, ovate, apex sharply rounded. Hind wings shorten and do not reach the apex of posterior process of pronotum.
Legs.
Fore and middle femora slightly compressed, margins finely serrated, with carinated and straight ventral margins. Hind femora robust and short, margins finely serrated; length of the first segment of hind tarsi is longer than the third.
This genus is similar to
Yunnantettix
from which it differs in hind wings present.
