Recognition.
Linogeraeus crucifer
can be recognized by its color pattern (
Fig. 31
). Males have tuberculiform prosternal spines and ventrally setose protibiae. The size range is
3.3–4.8 mm

Note.
Linogeraeus crucifer
is newly recorded for the
United States
. The species has been collected repeatedly in southern
Arizona
, for the first time in 1958, and
on one occasion in
Nebraska
(Holt Co.), in 1983. The currently known collecting data do not provide a coherent picture of the natural distribution. The single record from
Nebraska
almost certainly presents an accidental introduction.
