FIGURES 16–18. Coelotes acicularis , sp. nov. , male (CAS, CASENT9020393) from Baoshan, Nankang, palp, prolateral, ventral and retrolateral view, showing variation in conductor. Etymology. —The species name is derived from Latin word “acicula”, which means “needle, pin”, and refers to the presence of a small, needle-shaped tooth on the conductor base. Diagnosis: This new species is similar to C. pseudoterrestris but can be distinguished by the coiled copulatory ducts in the female and the presence of a small, needle-shaped tooth on the conductor base in the male ( Figs 1–9 ). FIGURES 19–26. Coelotes acicularis , sp. nov. , female epigyna, photos, showing variation in atrium (shape) and epigynal teeth (size and position), ventral and dorsal view. 19,20. From Tengchong County, Mingguang, Zizhi (CAS, CASENT9025625); 21,22 From Longyang County, Bawan, Bawan forest station (HNU, CASENT9025614); 23,24 From Longyang County, Bawan, Shancha He, Luoshuidong area (HNU, CASENT9022139); 25,26 From Longyang County, Bawan, Nan Kang Ya Kou (CAS, CASENT9025596). Description: Male ( holotype ): Medium sized coelotine, total length 8.80 ( Fig. 13 ). Carapace 4.60 long, 2.90 wide. Abdomen 4.20 long, 3.00 wide. ALE largest, other eyes subequal in size, slightly smaller than ALE (AME 0.20, ALE 0.26, PME 0.18, PLE 0.18); AME separated from each other by approximately their diameter, from ALE by ¾ of AME diameter; PME separated from each other by slightly less than their diameter, from PLE by slightly more than their diameter (AME-AME 0.18, AME-ALE 0.14, PME-PME 0.16, PME-PLE 0.20, AME-PME 0.18) ( Fig. 14 ). Chelicera with 3 promarginal and 4 (occasionally 3) retromarginal teeth. Labium longer than wide (L/W=1.10) ( Fig. 15 ). Palpal patellar apophysis large, slightly extended and pointed distally; RTA slightly more than half of tibial length, distinctly extended distally; lateral tibial apophysis broad, distinctly separated from RTA; cymbial furrow short, about 1/3 of cymbial length; conductor short, slender, with a small, sharp tooth at its base, a dorsal apophysis, a small basal lamella; median apophysis broad, round, spoon-shaped; embolus short, filifom, prolateral in origin ( Figs 3–4 , 7–9 , 16– 18 ). Female (one of the paratypes in HNU measured): Large sized coelotine, total length 11.0 ( Fig. 10 ). Carapace 5.00 long, 3.30 wide. Abdomen 6.00 long, 4.00 wide. ALE largest, other eyes subequal in size, slightly smaller than ALE (AME 0.20, ALE 0.23, PME 0.18, PLE 0.20); AME separated from each other by approximately their diameter, from ALE by ¾ of AME diameter; PME separated from each other by slightly less than their diameter, from PLE by slightly more than their diameter (AME-AME 0.10, AME-ALE 0.10, PME-PME 0.20, PME-PLE 0.30, AME-PME 0.20) ( Fig. 11 ). Promargin of chelicera with 3 teeth, retromargin 4, occasionally 3. Labium slightly longer than wide (L/W=1.05) ( Fig. 12 ). Epigynal teeth short, arise laterally between anterior atrial margin and epigastric furrow, widely separated by more than atrial width; atrium small, with distinct, continuous anterior margin but indistinct lateral margins; copulatory ducts originate anteriorly, twisted, distinctly separated from each other, extend beyond spermathecae; spermathecae broad, close together, slightly elongated; spermathecal heads arise anteriorly, lateral of spermathecae ( Figs 1–2 , 5–6 , 19– 26 ). Notes: Female epigynal teeth vary slightly in their position and length, but the twisted copulatory ducts are uniform among the specimens examined. Little variation was observed in the male palp, apart from a male with a reduced tooth at the conductor base (CAS, CASENT9020393 from Baoshan, Nankang) ( Figs 16–18 ). Distribution: China (Yunnan) ( Fig. 154 ).
