Prchal , Malaise trap ( PWMP ). Description . Male. Head : Round; eye bridge 3 facets wide. Antenna brownish, scape and pedicel somewhat paler; 4 th flagellomere with a l/w index of 1.8–2.0, hairs somewhat shorter than the diameter, inserted in rather large pits. Palpi 3-segmented, first segment with 3–4 bristles and a flat patch of sensillae. Mouth parts very short. Thorax : Brown; scutum with dark hairs, some lateral and prescutellar bristles longer. Scutellum with 2 more robust bristles. Postpronotum bare. Wing brownish; R 1 = 1/2 R; c somewhat longer than 1/2 w; y = x, both bare; Mfork shorter than M-stem, rather wide; CuA-stem = x; posterior veins distinct, without macrotrichia. Haltere short, brown. Legs yellowish; tibial organ with a small patch of stronger bristles, distinctly bordered. Claws finely toothed. Abdomen : Inner margin of gonocoxites with a few longer bristles between short hairs. Gonostylus wide and oval in shape, inner side concave, with dense apical hairs, 3 long spines, and 2–3 whiplash hairs that are as long as the spines. Tegmen apically rounded. Aedeagus rather long, with a large furca. Body length: 2.2 mm . Comments . The species resembles Psl. basisetosa sp. n. but differs from it by having a broader gonostylus with three much longer spines, a few longer bristles on the entire ventral inner margin of the gonocoxites and a distinctly bordered tibial organ apically on the fore tibia. Distribution . USA ( Arizona ).
