( Figs 22 , 39 , 59 , 78 ) urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act: 749B998D-7A91-4521-BE2E-20E78171A850 Type material. Holotype , CHINA , Sichuan Province , Ya'an City , Bifengxia ( 30.07°N , 102.97°E ), 1115 m , 27.vi.2016 , leg. Kaijian Teng and Xiaofei Yang , genitalia slide no. LGE16247. Diagnosis. The forewing ground color of T. acutimedia sp. nov. is somewhat lighter and the orange distal patch smaller than in related species. Also, the hind tibia and mid- and hind tarsi are less mixed with fuscous. The male genitalia are unique in that the costa of valva has a pointed projection at middle. Description. Adult ( Fig. 59 ). Head : Silvery white. Labial palpus silvery white, distal half of palpomere II suffused with fuscous on outer surface; palpomere III as long as II, fuscous dorsally. Antenna with scape silvery white; flagellum dark fuscous except basal half of dorsal surface mixed with silvery white, male cilia slightly longer than diameter. Thorax : Dorsum and tegula silvery white. Wingspan 9.0 mm; forewing with basal 1/3 silvery white mixed with light grey, anterior edge of costa black, distal 2/3 grey; a roundish orange patch in distal 1/4 of wing, its anterior margin reaching costa, posterior margin bordered by fuscous scales above dorsum; a narrow silvery white line extending from costa to near tornus between patch and apical spot; a small, somewhat indistinct black spot on termen below apical spot; fringe scales grey. Hindwing grey, except black at apex and silvery white near apex; fringe scales grey. Legs silvery white; hind tibia dark fuscous apically; mid- and hind tarsi strongly mixed with fuscous on inner surface. Abdomen ( Fig. 22 ): Male coremata as long as sternum VIII; sternum VIII pentagonal, approximately 1/8 length of abdomen. Male genitalia ( Fig. 78 ) with uncus small, pentagonal, with a medial ridge. Gnathos hook short, thickened after base, pointed apically. Tegumen approximately 6 times as long as uncus; papilliform tubercles at middle, each bearing a long single hair ( Fig. 39 ). Valva curved inward, gradually broadened from base to middle, then abruptly narrowed at costa after middle and forming a short projection, spatulate distally. Anellus lobe oval, approximately 1/4 length of valva; apical bristle twice as long as anellus lobe, strongly curved inward. Juxta projected at middle of inner margin. Vinculum simple, posterior margin rounded. Saccus sub-triangular, rounded apically, slightly exceeding tegumen pedunculus. Aedeagus with basal 2/5 globular, distal 3/5 slender and slightly sinuous, pointed apically. Female unknown. Distribution . China ( Sichuan ). Etymology . The species name is derived from the Latin acutus (pointed) and medius (middle), referring to the costa of valva with a pointed projection at middle.
