Acupalpus mauritanicus
Dejean, 1829: 480
.
Dejean (1829)
stated that he studied at least two individuals. The specimen designated as
lectotype
is a female bearing the labels “
mauritanicus
m. in Barbaria
Tanger
”, “D. Solier” and “
Lectotype
of
Acupalpus mauritanicus
Dejean, 1829
desig. by J. Serrano”.
Amblystomus mauritanicus
is distributed in
Morocco
and western
Iberia
(Serrano, 2013), and is easily determined due to its large body size (
5-6 mm
), slender antennae and asymmetrical labrum. Determination keys are available in
Fuente (1927)
and
Antoine (1959)
.
