Distribution Central Europe, Middle East to Siberia ( Massa et al. 2012 ). The actual status of the species in Italy has to be re-evaluated. It is known to be present in the north-eastern area of the country, in mountain areas of Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia ( Iorio et al. 2019 , Massa et al. 2012 ). Notes It lives in moist grassland with high vegetation, in marshy and swampy areas ( Massa et al. 2012 ).
