Diagnosis.
Males of
S. sevegnaniae
sp. nov.
resemble those of
S. palmar
Goloboff, 1995
and
S. tenuistyla
Goloboff, 1995
by the long and slender embolus (
Figs 49–51
,
56, 57
), but can be distinguished by the palpal bulb with straight duct and more elevated keels (
Figs 49–51
,
56–58
). Females resemble those of
S. tenuistyla
and
S. pescador
sp. nov.
by the spermathecae having a reduced basal dome, but can be distinguished by the rounded basal dome with a single receptaculum arising from the internal side (
Figs 52, 53
).
Etymology.
The specific name is a patronym in honor of Dr. Lucia Sevegnani (
in memoriam
), a researcher who has actively worked in the study and conservation of several areas of the
Santa Catarina
state, mainly in the Itajaí watershed Valley.
Description.
Male (
holotype
). Color pattern in ethanol: carapace yellowish brown, legs brown. Body with light pubescence, covered with golden setae. Abdomen dorsally brownish yellow with four brown mottled areas forming chevron and ventrally yellowish brown with eight spots. Total length, 8.12. Carapace 3.60 long, 2.60 wide, with short and procurved fovea. Abdomen 3.52 long, 1.81 wide. Thoracic region slightly raised. Clypeus narrow, 0.05. Eye tubercle weakly elevated, wider than long. Anterior eye row slightly procurved, posterior recurved. Eye sizes: AME 0.14, ALE 0.21, PME 0.13 and PLE 0.17. Chelicerae with eight teeth in prolateral row, with
ca.
20 basal smaller teeth and rastellum weak, formed by long thin setae. Intercheliceral tumescence small, pale yellow covered with few setae. Labium 0.20 long, 0.41 wide, with no cuspules. Short maxillae with
ca.
45 blunt cuspules on internal basal angle. Serrula restricted to one small portion of maxillary lobe and poorly developed (
Figs 59, 60
). Sternum oval 1.92 long, 1.50 wide. Sternal sigilla very small, granulate, marginal: anterior and median rounded, posterior oval-elongated, twice the size of anterior, away from margin by
ca.
1/4 length. Palp: measurements: femur 1.49/ patella 0.99/ tibia 1.11/ cymbium 0.60/ total 4.19; spination: tibia p0-0-2-2, r0-0-0-1.
